      "Street Fights presented by ZRock gives anyone a chance to tackle the strip in legendary Thunder Valley. All street-legal vehicles, from muscle cars to minivans and motorcycles, are welcome to compete at Street Fights. The schedule is comprised of 15 Street Fights events, with the season opener scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2013. The majority of events take place on Thursday evenings, with selected Saturday events in 2013.

      Fans at Street Fights will see some of the fastest street cars around go head-to-head during Power Hour to see who is the quickest of the quick. Street Fights is not just about the quickest and the fastest, however, as anyone can bring their own car to challenge the legendary track in Thunder Valley.

      Street Fights brings a lot more than just street legal racing to the table.       "Set once again for Father’s Day weekend, the June 14-16 Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway provide one of the most unique experiences in motorsports.

      Race fans are treated to exciting moments throughout the weekend in Thunder Valley.

      Friday’s racing is highlighted with what is one of the most exciting events in racing, qualifying under the lights in Thunder Valley. Night qualifying at Bristol Dragway provides fans an unparalleled spectacle as the 8,000 horsepower, nitro-powered, earth-shaking machines light up the night and roar through the valley at speeds in excess of 320 mph.

      Saturday features a full day of racing action, capped by what has become one of the best-attended autograph sessions on the NHRA circuit. In 2012, more than 25 drivers came to collect autographs from the biggest names in the sport. The event takes place in Nitro Alley following the conclusion of Saturday’s final qualifying rounds.

      On Sunday, race fans celebrate Father’s Day in style with Final Eliminations at the Thunder Valley Nationals. Additionally, Bristol Dragway will give two free junior tickets for each advance adult ticket purchased by Thursday, June 13.

      Feel the Top Fuel Dragsters as they race through this picturesque valley at speeds in excess of 300 mph. Watch the Funny Car pilots ride their 8,000 horsepower machines like bucking broncos and see just how tight the action really can be in the Pro Stock series.

      The Huddleston Performance Jr. Dragster Nationals presented by Mike Bos provide a convenient option for racers hoping to tune their cars to compete at Bristol Dragway. The event kicks off a full eight days of action, one of the biggest weeks of Jr. Dragster competition in the country."

  • NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Final
    • Date: July 22-27, 2013

      "Thunder Valley hosts the future of drag racing during the NHRA Junior Drag Racing League Eastern Conference Final.

      Aspiring drag racers, ages 8-18, from across the country will come to Bristol hoping to hone their skills on the national stage. A future NHRA World Champion may get the first national event win of his or her career in Thunder Valley.

      Add the Huddleston Performance Jr. Dragster Nationals presented by Mike Bos and various fun races occurring during the days leading in to the Eastern Conference Finals and this becomes one of the greatest weeks of Jr. Dragster racing anywhere.

      The event is expected to attract racers from across the East Coast and abroad. Race champions in 2012 represented Louisiana, Ohio, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama and Indiana. One of Bristol Dragway’s regular competitors, Carson Brown, claimed the 11-year-old category.   

      Bristol Dragway first hosted the Eastern Conference Finals in 2004 and the Western Conference Finals have been at Bandimere Speedway since NHRA adopted the Eastern/Western format in 2000. Competitors race for individual and team honors at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing League Eastern and Western Conference Finals, and nearly $100,000 in savings bonds is given away at each event."

  • Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness Presented by Beef 'O' Brady's

      "Monster mayhem makes its way to Bristol Motor Speedway during the Thompson Metal Monster Truck Madness presented by Beef O’Brady’s.  

      Fans will be on the edge of their seats as they witness some of the biggest monster truck names in the business, flying, crushing and destroying everything in their way.

      Trucks will race around the Bristol Motor Speedway infield during two qualifying rounds. Racing eliminations will begin after qualifying is complete.  After the racing champion is crowned, the trucks return for everyone’s favorite event, freestyle. In freestyle, drivers will perform stunts and moves you never thought possible.

      Drivers also will be available for autographs and pictures during the pre-event pit party located on the backstretch of BMS. 

      Fans of all ages will not want to miss the kings of carnage as they do what they do best- cause chaos!

  • ADHRA Thunder in the Valley

      The All Harley Drag Racing Association brings some of the baddest Harley-Davidsons on the planet. The Pro Categories feature insanely fast racing, including the thrilling Top Fuel Nitro-powered Harleys.  The Top Fuel bikes are among the fastest in the world, and are a crowd favorite as they blast down the famed quarter-mile in Thunder Valley at blistering speeds.

      With 16 classes of competition and tons of vendors, there is something for everyone at the Thunder in the Valley Nationals."

  • Fun Ford Weekend

      "Fun Ford Weekend presented by JE Pistons and Roush Yates is back at Bristol Dragway and it’s better than ever. High-performance racing action, Ford’s sweetest street machines and extreme exhibition vehicles make this weekend one of the most exciting Ford events around.  

      Action begins on Friday with a test and tune session open to all manufacturers. The day also includes Ford vs. The World, an event that pits the Fords against all comers. Ford fans should come cheer their favorite brand to victory over the invading Chevys and Mopars.

      Electronics and non-electronics will run separate in Ford vs. The World competition until there are four cars remaining in each class. The classes then will be combined to determine the ultimate champion.

      Exciting Ford-only competition continues on Saturday in Fast Ford (Electronics), Quick Ford (Non-Electronics), Street Ford (1/4 mile), True Street, Mustang Street Fight, Tuff Truck and the Virginia Lasers Shootout.

      True Street racers will follow a police escort on a predetermined route throughout the local area to prove their machines are street-worthy. Once they return, they’ll battle to see which can run closest to its index.

      The Mustang Street Fight Class is open to any street-legal Ford vehicle. Trophies will be awarded for quickest elapsed time, best reaction time and best appearing.

      Yesterday’s classics, as well as today’s favorites, will be on hand in the car show display area on Saturday. Participants and spectators can enjoy a parking lot full of the hottest Ford show cars and drag cars. Any Ford die-hard looking for special memorabilia or those hard-to-find parts also will want to check out the vendors’ midway and the swap meet and car corral."

  • NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series

      "NHRA’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series returns to Thunder Valley Sept. 5, 2013 in an event which will draw competitors from across NHRA’s Southeast Division.

      Bristol’s event is one of 43 NHRA LODRS events scheduled for 2013, and its position at the end of the calendar means many racers from other divisions may plan to visit Bristol Dragway to collect points in the race for NHRA divisional and national championships.

      Eight classes of racing will run during the event, with competition in the same Sportsman categories featured during the Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals. Racing takes place in Competition Eliminator, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Sportsman and Top Dragster."

  • Super Chevy Show

      "Thunder Valley historically hosts one of the largest Super Chevy Shows on the calendar. For more than 30 years, the Super Chevy Show has been known for some of the most exciting bracket and exhibition racing in the country and this year is no different. Add the Thunder Valley Mayhem on Saturday night and this show is a can’t-miss event.

      At Thunder Valley Mayhem, fans should prepare themselves for the ultimate evening of entertainment, including fast machines, extreme thrills and edge-of-your-seat excitement. Details on exhibition acts will be released as soon as they become available.

      Those in attendance will have plenty of activities to keep them busy all weekend. Bracket racers will flock to Thunder Valley to take part in exciting racing action in Bracket 1 (Super Pro), Bracket 2 (Pro), DOT and True Street.

  • Mopar Thunder
    • Date: October 13, 2013

      "Returning to Bristol is the always-exciting Mopar vs. The World.  This special event takes place on Friday night and pits some of the fastest Mopars against all comers. 

      Saturday racing includes a Bonus race and Slant 6 action, while Sunday features competition in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Slant 6.

      A Mopar car show will fill the Dragway grounds and offer fans a chance to view some of their favorites from years ago."

    • Chill Hill is a 300-ft snowless slide, with 2 side-by-side lanes and inflated tubes on which riders zoom to the bottom of the hill.
  • Johnson Controls Ice Rink
    • Date: November 15, 2013 - January 13, 2014
    • The 60' x 120' covered rink attracts over 30,000 visitors a year, and has become one of the Bristol Motor Speedway's most popular off-rink event.

2013 marks the 52nd anniversary of the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tennessee.

The Bristol Motor Speedway (aka the Bristol International Raceway, Bristol Raceway, and the Thunder Valley Dragstrip), located in Bristol, Tennessee, was built in 1960, and hosted its first NASCAR race in 1961. The Bristol Motor Speedway, famous for its short track and steep banks, has speeds lower than most NASCAR tracks, and has more yellow-flag laps than most NASCAR tracks. Annual NASCAR races include NASCAR Practice Day (Ford Fan Friday); Scotts Turf Builder 300 (NASCAR Nationwide Series); Food City 500 (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series); O'Reilly 200 (NASCAR Camping World Truck Series); Food City 250 (NASCAR Nationwide Series); and the Irwin Tools 500 (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series), etc. Bristol Speedway races are held annually, generally between March and August.
