The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com has plenty of Deck space, on both levels and 3 sides. The amazing Views are the highlight of the Decks. The Deck off of the Great Room is furnished with 8 seats, in the form of 4 2-seat benches that have a small table between the seats. The front Deck, which includes the cabin entrance, has a few wide steps leading to the driveway, and is covered, keeping off the elements in wet weather. The furnishings here include 2 large chairs and an end table. From the Dining Room and Master Suite 4 (Upstairs Blue), you can access a third Deck on the main level. This one runs the length of the side of the house, and is where you'll find our large bear-proof trash receptacles (note: 4 commercial size trash cans provided, but trash pick-up is complimentary, if more space is required). Downstairs, the Game Room exterior door leads to a Deck running the length of the cabin, on which you'll find the Hot Tub. On the Master Suite 2 (Downstairs Blue) side of the Deck, there is also access to the beautifully landscaped side yard, via a gate and a few stairs. Master Suite 3 (Downstairs Green) has 2 exterior doors, leading to Decks on 2 different sides of the cabin. One of these holds the second trash receptacle. On both sides of the Hot Tub, there are Porch Swings; 1 on the Master Suite 3 (Downstairs Green) side, and 2 on the Master Suite 2 (Downstairs Blue) side. All Master Bedroom Suites have access to Decks.
The Dining Room of The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com is where you'll find some of the best views in the cabin. Two doors in the Dining Room lead out onto a Deck on one side of the house and a Screened Porch on the other side. The table itself is very large, and situated under a chandelier. Since we couldn't find a table for 28, we provide 8 tray tables and 2 card tables with folding chairs, as well as a high-chair. The table settings you see in the picture above are all provided, making the Dining Room perfect for anything from a formal feast to a casual snack spread. As an added bonus, the 50" HDTV in the Great Room is visible from the Dining Room.
There's nothing like a spectacular view of the Smoky Mountains National Park, but if you take that spectacular view and add the best-equipped Game Room in the Smokies, then you have something really special. This Game Room has games enough to keep 28 people with tastes across the spectrum happy. We're excited about the newest addition to this huge Game Room: a 100-CD Jukebox, containing a variety of CD selections, from Bruce Springsteen, to Michael Buble, to TobyMac, to Kenny Chesney. An NFL Arcade Video Game, a 50+ Game Arcade, a Foosball Table, a Pool Table, and Air Hockey are some of the first things you'll notice in this spacious room. 4 floor-to-ceiling Oak Bookcases full of Books, Board Games from Candy Land to Risk, Cards and Chips for Poker, Dominoes, CD's and DVD's, etc., provide a beautiful backdrop for the Game Table and Chairs in the corner. This Game Table has a lid that can be flipped over to become a Chess/Checkers Board, or can be removed and set aside to reveal a green felt-lined Poker Table, with slots for Chips and Cards. For the youngest children, a Toy Kitchen, a Hop Scotch Mat, and other age-appropriate games are available. A large gas fireplace provides beauty and warmth, and is placed near the TV area so the ones sitting quietly benefit the most from the heat. The 50" HDTV not only provides DirecTV channels and plays DVD's, but is also hooked with a Nintendo Wii Console. Wii games at The Gatlinburg Lodge include Beatles Rock Band (with 2 Guitars, a Drumset, and 3 Microphones), Tony Hawk Shred skateboard game, Wii Fit (with Balance Board), Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus Video Game, The Biggest Loser, Family Game Night (includes Connect 4, Operation, Jenga, Pictureka, and Bop It), Wii Sports, and a Car Racing Game. The Wii Console go-with's include a Steering Wheel remote hookup, 4 Nunchuks, 4 Wii Remotes, and a Charging Dock. Lastly, there are 2 queen size Pullout Sofas and 2 large Ottomans with trays, providing comfortable seats and a place for snacks and drinks.
After you enter your unique door code to unlock The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com, the front door opens into the Great Room. A floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace, cathedral ceilings with tongue-and-groove woodwork, and an open floor plan with the Dining Room and Kitchen are among the first features to catch your eye. The Great Room also holds a desk and chair, 2 queen size pullout sofas, a love-seat, a 50" HDTV with DirecTV, a DVD player, a large coffee table (on which the welcome book is waiting for your perusal), 2 end tables, and coasters for use on all 3 tables. With a name like SmokyMountainViews.com, you can bet we value our Views. Here in the Great Room, the wall of windows overlooks the Smoky Mountains National Park, and also has a glass door, opening onto a deck. Rather than wax eloquent about the views, we'll let them speak for themselves, when you reach the Views portion of this Amenities page, and our Views Photo Page.
The Hot Tub at The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com is larger than average, with separate seats for up to 6 people. As you can see, the Views, even from the Hot Tub itself, are spectacular. The Hot Tub has 59 Relaxing Jets or Turbo Jets, plus Colored Lights and a Waterfall, and is covered and locked (code found in Welcome Book), to help maintain the water temperature. If the seal is broken, the Hot Tub is drained, cleaned, refilled, and restocked with sanitizing agents between every reservation, without fail. When the seal is unbroken, indicating the guests did not even lift the lid, the Hot Tub is still checked and refreshed with new sanitizing agents, to guarantee that guests always enjoy a sparkling clean Hot Tub. For your safety and convenience, a 2-step slip-resistant entry is provided. Master Suite 3 (Downstairs Green), Master Suite 2 (Downstairs Blue), and the Game Room all have direct access to the Hot Tub.
Free Password-Protected (Password located in Welcome Book) Wi-Fi is provided in the form of High-Speed DSL Service. This Internet reaches the whole cabin and even the decks. Convenient work-spaces for your electronics include 2 Desks, Counters, multiple Coffee Tables and End Tables, Picnic Table, Dining Room Table, etc.
We say The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com is suitable for up to 28 guests, and the Kitchen lives up to that. The count in the kitchen cabinets is checked, to make sure that all 28 get a plate and a fork, a coffee cup, a glass, etc. We also provide two coffee makers, over-sized pots, all the essential little tools (such as can-openers, pizza cutters, spatulas, a knife block...), toaster, pancake griddle, electric skillet, and plenty of pans, bowls, and casserole dishes, just to give a sampling. A freezer/refrigerator, an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, a convection oven, and a toaster oven make up the appliances. Dishrags, dishtowels, a sponge, dishwasher detergent, and potholders are replaced and set out on the counter ready for you, and the sink dispenser always has plenty of dish soap. You'll also find the book of Previous Guest Reviews and a welcome message from the owners, sitting on the counter with the bar-stools. One last point that makes this Kitchen stand out is the open floor plan with the Great Room and Dining Room, so the ones preparing food don't miss a moment of conversation or TV.
The Laundry Room/Linen Closet contains a Full-Size Washer and Dryer, in addition to a set of shelves stocked with the Sheets, Blankets, Pillows, and Towels to accompany all the Pullout Sofas. Next to the Washer/Dryer you'll find the Card Tables and Folding Chairs, in addition to a High-Chair and a Broom/Dust Pan.
The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com is just a few minutes away from Downtown Gatlinburg, but you wouldn't guess that when you're at the cabin. The location is away from the traffic, and its neighbors are far enough away that you can enjoy privacy during your vacation. "The spur," a gorgeous 5-mile stretch of road shaded by trees and following a river, connects Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, the neighboring town where you'll find Dollywood, Dixie Stampede, WonderWorks, and countless other attractions. There are multiple entrances to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park within 10 miles of the cabin. One more reason you'll enjoy the location of this cabin is that it's easily accessible from I-40, so you won't spend the first couple hours of your vacation wandering around the foothills trying to find your cabin.
A door from the Great Room leads to the first Master Bedroom Suite, which is distinguished from the other Master Bedroom Suite on the main level of the cabin by its color. We have an Upstairs and Downstairs Green, and an Upstairs and Downstairs Blue. This is Upstairs Green, famous for its bathroom the size of a bedroom (see Photo: Jacuzzi Page) and cathedral ceilings. One of 2 doors leading to the Sunroom is found here, as well as a Laundry Room/Linen Closet. Through the windows to the Sunroom, you can see that amazing Smoky Mountain view, even lying on the bed. A giant Aspen bed-frame with a bench across the bottom supports a King Pillow-Top Mattress with 4 fluffy pillows. The Flat-Screen HDTV with DirecTV and Blu-Ray is mounted above a 3-drawer bureau, that matches the beautiful bed-frame as well as the 2 end-tables with lamps and a clock. The last two pieces of furniture in Upstairs Green are an Easy Chair Recliner and a full-length Chaise. In the bathroom, you'll find a large mirror over a 2-sink counter, a Jacuzzi Tub, and a Separate Shower; and just to add to the luxury we installed a Woodstove with Fireplace Electric Heater and a wall-mounted CD and iPod/Mp3 Player. The bathroom also leads to a walk-in closet, where you'll find those Tray Tables we mentioned for the Dining Room, an Iron and Ironing Board, a Portacrib for the baby, a Roll-Away Bed (we've added some extra layers of padding to ensure a restful night.), Sheets, a Blanket, a Pillow, and Towels for the user of the Roll-Away, several Clothes Hangers, and finally a Vacuum Cleaner, because we know how frustrating it can be to have no means of cleaning up a spill... and even with all those items, there is still plenty of space for anything you would like to place in the closet.
Downstairs Blue is one of 2 Master Bedroom Suites off of the Game Room. Here, as well, there are windows revealing the Smoky Mountains National Park. There is also a glass door, leading out to the deck where you'll find the Hot Tub and stairs leading down to the Side Yard. 2 Queen Beds with pillow-top mattresses and a Bunk-Bed with 2 twin beds, in addition to a large TV Cabinet with a drawer, and a Glass-Top Table with a clock and a lamp make up the furniture in this room. In the TV Cabinet you'll find a large TV with DirecTV and a DVD Player. The bathroom in Downstairs Blue is only a little smaller than the gigantic Master Suite 1 (Upstairs Green) bathroom, and is also accessible from the Game Room. The walk-in closet in this Master Bedroom Suite is the largest of the 4, and contains Clothes Hangers and another comfortable Roll-Away Bed with Sheets, Blanket, Pillow, and Towels.
The second Master Bedroom Suite on the lower level of the cabin is Downstairs Green. The doors in this Suite lead to Decks on 2 different sides of the cabin, where more amazing Smoky Mountain views await, with 1 of the doors just steps from the Hot Tub. The beds in Downstairs Green include a King Size Sleigh Bed with pillow-top mattress and a Twin Size Bed. In addition to 2 End Tables with lamps and a clock, there is also a large TV with DirecTV and a DVD Player in a TV Cabinet with a set of Shelves, plus a Desk and Chair. The Bathroom in Downstairs Green cannot be accessed from any other room, and the Walk-In Closet also contains Clothes Hangers and a Roll-Away Bed with Sheets, Blanket, Pillow, and Towels. Doors on either side of this Suite lead directly to the Game Room or to the hallway leading upstairs to the main level or to the other side of the large Game Room.
Upstairs Blue is the second Master Bedroom Suite on the main floor of The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com. This Suite has a King Size Sleigh Bed with a pillow-top mattress, along with a Twin Size Bed. There are two End Tables, with lamps and a clock, plus a TV Cabinet (with drawer), holding a large TV with DirecTV and a DVD Player. The Walk-In Closet contains Clothes Hangers, a Roll-Away Bed, and Sheets, Blanket, Pillow, and Towels to accompany the Roll-Away. This Suite has cathedral ceilings in both the Bedroom and the Bathroom, which is accessible from the Great Room/Dining Room, as well as access to the side Deck.
The care given to the cabin's setting is just one more factor that puts The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com in a class by itself. Flower beds and bushes with dark mulch, trimmed grass in the front of the house and in the side yard, neat edgers along the driveway, and Ivy climbing along the hills, are just a few of the details that make the landscaping beautiful. As discussed under Location, the cabin is out of the traffic, but an easy distance from attractions. A Charcoal Barbecue and Smoker is provided, in easy reach of the Kitchen. Lastly, (and most importantly, to many of our larger groups) there is plenty of parking space at The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com, even for a bus. The driveway is semi-circular, with an area for parking at both the top and the bottom of the small hill seen in the picture above, making pulling in and out and finding a spot for multiple cars a cinch.
The Views are breathtaking and the fresh air is delightful, at The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com; but the bugs, during certain times of year, render the great outdoors uncomfortable. That's why we added this Screened Porch, off of the Dining Room. In addition to access from the Dining Room, the Screened Porch has a door out to the main deck, which is accessible from the Great Room. Take advantage of the picnic table, if you feel like enjoying your breakfast out on the porch, or watch the sun set directly over the mountains, from the comfortable bench deck chairs.
The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com is among the larger cabins in the Smoky Mountains area, with beds provided for up to 28 guests. The accomodations, which often receive compliments, include 3 King Size Beds, 2 Queen Size Beds, 2 Twin Size Beds, 1 Twin Size Bunk-Bed (made up of 2 Twin Size Beds), 4 Queen Size Sleeper Sofas, and 4 Twin Size Roll-Away Beds. The Sofa Beds and the Roll-Away Beds have been given special treatment, with extra thick layers of padding, to ensure your night is restful on any bed in the house. For your convenience, we have also provided a Portable Crib "Pack n Play" for the smallest in your group.
All 3 walls of the Sunroom (the 4th wall connects the Sunroom with Master Suite 1 [Upstairs Green]) are made almost entirely of windows, making the scenery from this room among the best in the cabin. Here, also, the you look directly at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The vinyl windows can be opened by sliding one row down into the next, until all the windows are compressed at the bottom of the wall; this turns the Sunroom into a second screen room. The Sunroom is equipped with a Love-Seat, a Queen Size Sleeper Sofa, a Woodstove with Fireplace Electric Heater, and 3 end tables, plus a lamp and a fan. In addition to access from Master Suite 1 (Upstairs Green), a second Sunroom door leads out to the deck off of the Great Room.
With a direct view of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, from almost every room in the cabin, you found the right cabin to fully enjoy what made this area one of the most popular vacation destinations in the country: the breathtaking Smoky Mountains. The photo above shows the view from the Deck off of the Great Room. The mountains visible include Mt. LeConte, Greenbrier Mountain Range, and others. Many of the vacation cabins around here have no view at all of the Park, even just through trees or partially blocked by the next-door cabins; if the Smokies are visible at all, the cabin is exceptional. An unobstructed view of the Park stretching far and wide, with the clouds sailing overhead, or the sun making shadows in the hills, or the morning fog settling in the valleys is our one in a million attribute; your stay in The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com will be unforgettable.
Multiple guests have used The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.comas part of their weddings, from an amazing place for the family to stay, to conducting the ceremony itself at the cabin. With the stunning backdrop of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park itself for pictures, and the large, open space with cathedral ceilings, the cabin is a beautiful setting for a small wedding (Please contact us for details, if you would like to pursue this option). If you have too many wedding guests to conduct the ceremony in cabin, you can still plan the reception there, with the amazing Game Room keeping the kids happy, the large Kitchen making it easy to provide the food, and the open floor plan of the Great Room/Kitchen/Dining Room keeping the party social. Multiple nearby wedding chapels, including one with views that compare to the views at The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com, make a reception in the cabin an easy distance.
